Wabash County, IN (May 1, 2019) – Keith Gillenwater, President & CEO of Grow Wabash County has been awarded recertification by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) effective immediately. Gillenwater first achieved the Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) designation in June, 2013. CEcD recertification, required every three years, was awarded to Gillenwater who met the demanding requirements for continuing education and service to the profession. With over 13 years of experience in the profession, Gillenwater has made a large impact on the communities he has served, facilitating over $100,000,000 in new investments in Wabash County that have generated over $14,000,000 in new payroll at an average wage of $22.41/hr. Gillenwater was also named one of the top 50 economic developers in North America in 2017.
The designation of Certified Economic Developer is a highly renowned national recognition that denotes a mastery of principal skills in economic development, professional attainment and a commitment to professional growth. Gillenwater first earned certification by passing a rigorous three-part, two-day examination, testing his knowledge, proficiency, and judgement in many key areas of economic development.
