Wabash County, IN – Grow Wabash County and Manchester Alive invite business owners and community members alike to attend an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, Aug. 24, to celebrate the renovations done to the former Peabody Building in North Manchester.

The building, located at 505 Strauss Provimi Road in North Manchester, has been the location for many businesses over the year including the Peabody Seating Company, Tri-Lakes Container, and Sun Metal Products. Now, it is under management by Joe Sands and Christian Tucker from S&T Investment Group.

“S & T Investment Group LLC is thrilled at the opportunity to be part of the historic community of North Manchester and to be part the greater Wabash County Business Community,” Sands said. “The purchase and revitalization of the historic Peabody Furniture factory location is for us, a dream come true. One of our primary goals is to be a contributing member of the community and to see this building once again adding to & being something that the community can be proud of.”

In June 2023, Sands and Tucker purchased the space and have plans to invest over $1.5 million to update the building with the intention of opening up opportunities for local businesses looking to rent space.

“With already securing three tenants in the location, we are excited about the leasing of space for small business development & growth as well as warehouse space,” Sands said. “While there is still a lot of work to be done, we have come a long way in our short less than three months of ownership and encourage people who might be interested in researching what a partnership with S & T Investment Group looks like to reach out to us.”

The event on Aug. 24 will invite the community to tour the facility, meet Sands and Tucker and begin discussions on how the newly renovated space could help local businesses grow.

“The work that Joe and Christian have done to bring new life to this building is remarkable,” Keith Gillenwater, president and CEO of Grow Wabash County, said. “We are incredibly grateful for their commitment to helping this building that housed an iconic business, the Peabody Seating Company, once again make an impact in the Wabash County business community.”

The ribbon cutting will take place at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 24, at 505 Strauss Provimi Road in North Manchester. There will be a public open house following the ribbon cutting until 7 p.m.
