GWC to celebrate two farms, one family at annual Ag Dinner

    January 10, 2024

Wabash County, IN  – Grow Wabash County and the Salute to Ag committee are thrilled to be celebrating not one, but two farms, as their 2023 Farm Family of the Year.

This year, the Ag Committee will recognize the Peebles family for their work and contributions to the Wabash County agriculture industry. The Peebles family currently operates two farms: Never Fail Farms and VADA Farms, both of which will be honored during the Salute to Agriculture Dinner scheduled for Wednesday, February 28.

“Grow Wabash County is proud to honor the Peebles Family (VADA Farms and Roger and Suzanne Peebles - Never Fail Farms) as our 2023 Farm Family of the Year,” Howard Halderman, committee chair, said. “The Peebles family came to Wabash County over 100 years ago and today, expanded through multiple family farm operations, continues to do their part to help feed the world and improve the agriculture industry here in Wabash County.”

Never Fail Farms, Inc., has been in operation since 1851, producing corn and soybeans. The farm is currently run by Roger and Suzanne Peebles with help from their children, Isaac and Emma Peebles. VADA Farms is owned and operated by three generations of Peebles, David, Vaughn and Grant Peebles. VADA Farms also produces corn and soybeans as well as alfalfa and various types of flowers. Despite the fact that the two farms operate independently from each other, both pride themselves on being able to help each other thrive and prosper when needs arise.

“The Salute to Ag Dinner is always a great opportunity to celebrate and reflect on how important our local agricultural industry is not only to Wabash County, but to the world,” Tenille Zartman, president and CEO of Grow Wabash County, said. “Our local growers, farmers and producers like the Peebles family have devoted their life’s work to feeding the world and we ae honored to have the opportunity to give offer them our thanks and recognition during this annual event.”

The 2024 Salute to Ag Dinner will take place on Wednesday, February 28 starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Heartland REMC building, 350 Wedcor Avenue in Wabash.
