Komets to host Wabash County Night March 8
February 9, 2024
Wabash County, IN – Grow Wabash County and the Fort Wayne Komets invite the Wabash County community to be the MVPs at the Fort Wayne Komets game on Friday, March 8 for Wabash County Night.
As one of the Komets’ dedicated “community nights,” hockey fans are encouraged to show up and celebrate Wabash County while also rooting for the Komets as they take on the Wheeling Nailers.
“The Komets have always had strong support from communities outside of the city of Fort Wayne,” Mitch Meinholz, director of sales and events for the Fort Wayne Komets, said. “The Wabash area is definitely one of them. Working with Grow Wabash County and Mayor Long over the years to have a consistent night out that the community can be a part of is something folks look forward to every season now. We’re always happy to be that avenue to bring everyone together for some fun!”
As part of the night’s festivities, local leaders will join the players and Grow Wabash County on the ice for the ceremonial puck drop to kick-off the game. Wabash County will also be spotlighted throughout the game, with Wabash County citizens featured during the various games and events that make the Komets games such a fun night out for everyone.
“Wabash County Night has become a beloved tradition between the Komets and Wabash County,” Chelsea Parson, development and marketing project manager, said. “This event is a great way for us to spotlight the peoples, places and projects that make Wabash County so special. It is our opportunity to showcase our community for the rest of the northeast Indiana region and state of Indiana to celebrate and enjoy.”
Wabash County Night at the Komets will be on Friday, March 8, at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, 4000 Parnell Avenue, Fort Wayne. Game time is 8 p.m.
In addition to being in the spotlight during the game, Wabash County businesses and community members can get into the game for a reduced price.
