Wabash County, IN – Registration is open for the 2024-2025 cohort of Grow Wabash County’s flagship Leadership Development Wabash County (LDWC) program.
This eight-month program focuses on equipping and empowering local young professionals and emerging leaders to further develop their leadership skills through various assessments, lessons and projects. The ultimate goal being to provide these LDWC participants with the tools and skills they need to make an impact on the Wabash County community.
“Leadership Development Wabash County is one of Grow Wabash County’s longest-running programs and it has helped provide the tools and training to hundreds of Wabash County professions to help them become effective leaders in their communities,” Tenille Zartman, president and CEO of Grow Wabash County, said. “We are excited to welcome this new cohort into the fold and see how they make their own unique impact on the Wabash County community.”
The 2024-2025 LDWC cohort will convene every third Thursday between October 2024 and May 2025 at various locations around the county to better acquaint these leaders with the many assets and resources Wabash County offers.
Some of the programming slated for this cohort include: DISC and StrengthsFinder assessments, panels with local leaders and organizations, as well as a community service project that will pull the leaders outside of the classroom and into the Wabash County community to make an impact.
Through the curriculum developed in partnership with Indiana University Kokomo, the participants will also be given the opportunity to earn a university-recognized “micro-credential” by completing the LDWC program.
Popular guest speakers such as Asher Agency’s Anthony Juliano will also return to present on topics relevant to effective leadership such as communication skills for today’s leaders, valuing differences, public speaking, emotional intelligence, effective meeting strategies, and conflict resolution.
Tuition for this program is $995 for GWC Investors and $1,195 for the general public. The tuition covers all course materials, assessments, meals and snacks provided throughout the 8-month program.
Grow Wabash County will also award full tuition to one LDWC applicant through the Jim Smith Scholarship, named for Jim Smith, who retired from his position as head facilitator for the LDWC program in 2020. This scholarship is sponsored annually by Hoosier Jiffy Print.
