Logan Properties to break ground on Wabash spec building project
October 7, 2024
Wabash County, IN – Grow Wabash County and the City of Wabash are pleased to be joining Logan Properties and Nuway Construction in breaking ground on a new development project in the Wabash Northeast Business Complex.
On Monday, Oct. 28, there will be a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the official start of construction on the first of multiple industrial speculative buildings slated to be built in the industrial park by Logan Properties and Nuway Construction.
"The development team is very excited to partner with the City of Wabash and Grow Wabash County to help create new opportunities for its industrial market,” Martin Huttenlocker, principal for Logan Properties, said. “This collaboration will continue the growth in the Wabash Northeast Business Complex. Multiple projects are already planned, including the proposed spec building. The initial size of the spec building is strategically aligned with the market's high demand, and the additional shovel ready property will allow for the team to react to market needs."
In total, up to five speculative buildings may be built on the property recently purchased from the City of Wabash by Logan Properties. These structures will provide interested companies with a “shell” that can then be adjusted and customized to meet the business’ specific needs.
"The construction of these speculative buildings will give Wabash County a competitive edge when attracting new and expanding businesses to the community,” Tenille Zartman, president and CEO of Grow Wabash County, said. “Growing businesses are seeking out speculative buildings like the ones we are about to see go up in Wabash to speed up their construction timelines and begin the processes of hiring workers and commencing operations quicker.”
"Since assuming the office of Mayor of Wabash in 2016, it has been the goal of Grow Wabash County leadership and I to produce a speculative building to attract new business and industry to Wabash,” Mayor Scott Long said. “Perseverance and patience pay off. The creation of spec buildings by Logan Properties provides a landing space for business and industry to locate in the Wabash Northeast Business Park. I anticipate that the spec building will be quickly filled, and more will be constructed."
The ground-breaking ceremony will begin with remarks at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, October 28, at 826 N SR-13 in Wabash. Refreshments will be provided.
