Grow Wabash County gift checks keep shopping local

Wabash County, IN – Grow Wabash County encourages the community to shop locally this holiday season with Grow Wabash County gift checks.

Grow Wabash County gift checks can be used at over 250 local businesses and organizations in and around Wabash County, allowing your gift to create a ripple effect in the local economy. According to Indiana Owned, for every $100 spent locally, at least $68 stays within the community. This means that each dollar spent at an independent business generates three times more impact on the local economy compared to spending that same dollar at a national chain.

Since Grow Wabash County’s inception in 2017, over $340,000 has been spent locally at Wabash County businesses through the gift check program.

Gift checks must be paid for up front with cash or check. Credit/Debit card payments are not accepted for gift check orders. Purchasers are encouraged to order checks in increments of no greater than $25 to ensure as much of that money as possible goes to GWC investors.  

The last day to order gift checks before the holidays will be EOD on Wednesday, Dec. 18, and gift check orders may be picked up no later than noon on Thursday, Dec. 19.

Also available is a list of investors where shoppers commonly enjoy spending their gift checks such as Modoc’s Market and Walmart. This list of popular spots can be picked up at the Grow Wabash County office.  

Since gift checks can only be spent at Grow Wabash County investors, businesses that are not currently members that would like to participate in this year's program are encouraged to reach out to Jana Thibos for more information at 260-563-5258 or by filling out a membership application at www.growwabashcounty.com/investgwc.  

Businesses that are not currently a Grow Wabash County investor cannot accept gift checks from customers.
