Top students to be invited to GWC Honor Student Luncheon
February 25, 2025
Wabash County, IN – Grow Wabash County is excited to once again host some of Wabash County’s top academic students in the Class of 2025 at its annual Honor Student Luncheon scheduled for Thursday, April 10.
This year’s luncheon will recognize Wabash County seniors with career plans ranging from business, animal science, nursing, criminal justice, and more.
Representatives from local businesses and organizations are encouraged to both sponsor and attend the luncheon as “mentors” to students considering similar career paths. These mentors will be invited to network with the students and discuss their own professional journeys and how and why they chose to work in Wabash County.
“As we look to grow not only our population in Wabash County, but also diversify our workforce and talent pool, it is crucial for us to limit the amount of ‘brain drain’ often experienced by rural communities,” Chelsea Parson, project manager for development and marketing, said. “Our goal is to show these promising students that Wabash County has so much to offer them both professionally and personally. We hope that by attending the luncheon, these top academic seniors recognize those opportunities and see that they can build a future of their own right here in Wabash County.”
As part of the luncheon’s agenda, Grow Wabash County will also once again host a panel of industry professionals that will provide insight and advice to the students about starting their careers and why they should consider Wabash County when it comes time to choose where they want to lay down roots and begin their professional careers.
Local businesses, colleges, universities and employers interested in sponsoring students and showing your support for the next generation of talent in Wabash County can do so by registering online or by contacting Grow Wabash County by emailing Jana Thibos at jana@growwabashcounty.com or calling 260-563-5258.
