YPWC welcomes four new committee members

    June 2, 2025

Wabash County, IN – The Young Professionals of Wabash County (YPWC) are excited to share that the YPWC Steering Committee is growing! The group recently added four new young professionals that will bring new ideas and fresh perspectives to the committee.

“We’re thrilled to welcome these talented young professionals to the YPWC Board,” said Jana Thibos, YPWC Chair. “Each of them brings unique experiences and perspectives that will help us grow as a group and better serve our community. Their energy and ideas are exactly what we need as we continue building a vibrant network of emerging leaders in Wabash County.”

The new YPWC committee members include:

    • Nick Krieg – Nick grew up in Wabash County and attended Southwood most of his life before transferring to Wabash his junior year of high school and graduating. He moved away from home a couple of times to try the big city life but ended up settling back here in Wabash, which gave him a new appreciation for our small town. He enjoys living “the slow life” here in a tiny town! Growing up, his ultimate love was basketball, and sports still play a big role in his daily life as a spectator. His friends, family, and of course, his golden retriever, Cooper, are where he spends the majority of his free time. He believes the most important thing about him is how he would like to be remembered or thought of. When someone thinks of Nick, his goal is for the thought of a good, kind person to come to mind. He strives to be well-versed in a variety of things in life because he truly enjoys connecting with people and being able to make everyone feel like he’s truly engaged with them every time they have an interaction with him. For work, he takes pride in being a Realtor here in Wabash County who loves the art of providing all type of home buyers and sellers find their home here in Wabash.
    • Abby McDonald - Originally from Peru, Indiana Abby now resides in Wabash and have for over 4 years. She is married to Logan McDonald who was born and raised in Wabash. She works for Logansport Savings Bank as a Senior Credit Analyst and is one of the founders and a previous business partner of JoJo's OlFactory & Co. LLC in downtown Wabash. She is a member of the Wabash Alpha Epsilon Tri Kappa Chapter and currently serves on the Miami County United Way Board, as well as the Area Five Board. She is looking forward to joining the YP board for networking, meeting new young professionals, and continuing her involvement with YP of Wabash County as well as in the Wabash community in general.
    • Dane Schuler - Dane is the Founder and CEO of Up There Media, a creative marketing agency specializing in video production, paid advertising, branding, and content creation. Since entering the industry in 2019 and launching Up There Media in 2021, Dane has led marketing initiatives for various clients, particularly in the manufacturing sector. A graduate of Taylor University, he is excited to join the Young Professionals of Wabash County to connect with and support the next generation of local leaders.
    • Kourtney Sumner – Kourtney is a Wabash native and high school graduate currently working in Marketing at Ford Meter Box. She holds a bachelor's degree in marketing management and communications and an MBA with a concentration in accounting and finance. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing volleyball at the YMCA, and morning rides with Liking for Biking. Her background also includes coaching volleyball, teaching as an adjunct professor, and running a photography business. Because of her deep connection to the Wabash community, she loves spending time downtown, walking the River Walk, and rewatches of The Office, specifically to continue proudly holding her title as First Place Champ at the Speakeasy Trivia Nights!

The YPWC network has existed in various forms in Wabash County for years. The current generation of YPWC was launched in 2018 by Grow Wabash County, with the goal of creating opportunities for young professionals in the community to better network not only with each other but with the organizations and companies that stand to benefit from being connected to an engaged group of young leaders.

YPWC remains free for young professionals to join and begin networking with their fellow peers and emerging leaders. Those interested in being part of the network can do so by connecting with YPWC via email at yp@growwabashcounty.com  or by RSVPing and/or attending any of the various social, educational and/or service events that YPWC hosts throughout the year.

Up to date information about upcoming events and opportunities can be found on the YP of Wabash County Facebook/Instagram page as well as the YP mailing list.
