Shopping local made easy with Grow Wabash County gift checks

Wabash County, IN – As the holiday shopping season fast approaches, Grow Wabash County is encouraging the community to shop locally this holiday season with Grow Wabash County gift checks.

Grow Wabash County gift checks can be used at a wide variety of local businesses and organizations throughout Wabash County, helping ensure that money spent on holiday gifts and goodies stays within and supports our local communities.

According to the American Independent Business Alliance, for every $100 spent at a local business, at least $68 stays within the community. This means that each dollar spent at your favorite local business in Wabash County has a three times greater impact on the local economy compared to that same dollar spent at a national chain.

Since Grow Wabash County’s inception in 2017, over $421,000 has been spent locally at Wabash County businesses through the gift check program.  

“When you choose to shop local, you’re doing more than just checking off your holiday list, you’re helping families, supporting local jobs, and keeping Wabash County thriving,” said Jana Thibos, Investor Services & Events Project Manager for Grow Wabash County. “Our live gift checks make it easy to give a present that gives back to our community.”

Many Grow Wabash County investors accept the gift checks to help you make the most of your local shopping. Gift checks can be used for everything from coffee dates at Modoc’s Market to holiday treasures at local boutiques, and even everyday essentials at places like Walmart.

Gift checks must be purchased with cash or check (credit and debit cards not accepted). To make the most of each check, Grow Wabash County recommends ordering in $25 increments or less.

The last day to order before the holidays is 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, with pickup available until noon Friday, Dec. 19.

Businesses that are not currently Grow Wabash County investors cannot accept gift checks from customers.
