Modoc's Espresso Bar & Cafe to celebrate new beginnings, new owners
July 30, 2026
Wabash County, IN (7/30/26) – Grow Wabash County and Downtown Wabash, Inc., invites the community to Modoc’s Espresso Bar & Cafe for an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, August 7, to welcome the new owners and the next era for downtown Wabash’s beloved coffee spot.
“Modoc’s has long been more than just a coffee shop, it’s a gathering place that helps make downtown Wabash feel vibrant, welcoming, and connected. We are excited to celebrate Chad and Lindsay Kirtlan as they begin this new chapter and continue the legacy that Mike and Angie Beauchamp built over the years. Their investment in this beloved business reflects the entrepreneurial spirit and community pride that help Wabash County thrive," said Tenille Zartman, President and CEO of Grow Wabash County.
Formerly owned by Mike and Angie Beauchamp, Modoc’s is now under the ownership and management of Chad and Lindsay Kirtlan.
“Taking ownership of Modoc’s has been an incredible honor for our family,” said Lindsay Kirtlan, new owner. “This is a business with deep roots in Wabash and in the lives of so many people in our community, and we feel a tremendous responsibility to build on the foundation that has been created here. Modoc’s is so much more than a coffee shop. It’s a place where people gather, connect, and feel at home. We are so excited to continue growing alongside the Wabash community and to be part of Modoc’s next chapter.”
"There are very few places that become woven into the story of a community the way Modoc's has,” Mikka Hunt, executive director of Downtown Wabash, Inc., said. “For years, it has been a welcoming space where friendships have been built over coffee, ideas have been shared across tables and life's everyday moments are celebrated. That's why this transition is so special. Seeing local owners continue to carry this legacy forward with such care and passion gives our community every reason to be excited. Chad and Lindsay's investment reflects a belief in Wabash, in downtown, and in the people who call this place home. We couldn't be happier to celebrate the beginning of this next chapter with them and look forward to watching Modoc's Espresso Bar & Cafe continue to thrive for years to come."
The ribbon cutting ceremony will begin at 4 p.m. on Friday, August 7, at 205 South Miami Street in Wabash. Following the ceremony, guests are invited to enjoy the open and get to know the Kirtlans.
