About the Program
Leadership Development Wabash County is the launchpad for emerging leaders, recently promoted staff, new residents to the county, and young professionals. The program offers an outstanding course of study to enhance leadership skills and help them make an even greater impact in the Wabash County community. Over the course of 8 months, participants will be tasked with understanding their leadership needs and strengths, and how to effectively lead at a personal, professional and community-wide level.
Over 225 Wabash County leaders have graduated from the LDWC program and continue to serve on local boards, strengthen the companies they work for, serve in government positions and ultimately grow as individuals.

- Extended DISC profile
- Course materials
- Networking lunches & snacks
- Panel discussions & host tours
- Exposure to unique resources around Wabash County
- Service project & book group
- Leadership curriculum by IU Kokomo & Microcredential Certified
- Graduation luncheon, ceremony & certificate

- Thursday, October 16 - Josiah White's
- Thursday, November 20 - Manchester University
- Thursday, December 18 - The Learn More Center, Adult Education Center
- Thursday, January 15 - Ford Meter Box
- Thursday, February 19 - Honeywell Center
- Participants will also attend Grow Wabash County's State of Our Communities event at 7:30 a.m. during this session
- Thursday, March 19 - Heartland Career Center
- Thursday, April 17 - Honeywell House & Wabash Carnegie Public Library
- Thursday, May 15 - Graduation, Eagles Theatre
Scholarships
Applications are OPEN for this year’s Jim Smith Scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded to one applicant attending the 2024-2025 LDWC cohort to pay for their full program tuition.
