Wabash County, IN – Grow Wabash County and the Salute to Ag committee are thrilled to announce that the Brubaker family has been selected as the 2025 Farm Family of the Year.
The family will be honored at the 2026 Salute to Agriculture Dinner on Wednesday, March 4.
The Brubaker family has farmed in North Manchester since 1974. Over the past five-plus decades, the Brubakers have planted and harvested corn and soybeans while also raising hogs. In addition to being a proud Wabash County farm family, the Brubakers are very involved in the community, serving on various boards and committees, and even volunteering for the Chester Township Fire Department.
“The Grow Wabash County Ag Committee is proud to recognize the Brubaker family as the 2025 Farm Family of the Year,” Howard Halderman, chair of the Salute to Ag committee, said. “Pete, Boyd, and Brad as well as their spouses and family continue a long-standing family farm in the north central portion of the county. They are outstanding producers who care for the environment, are good stewards of the soil, and are passionate about their landowners. Wabash County is blessed with many excellent agricultural producers and we are honored to recognize the Brubaker Family this year.”
The keynote speaker for this year’s event will be Dr. Angie Abbott, associate dean for Purdue University and director of Purdue Extension.
“For more than 50 years, the Brubaker family has shown what dedication, stewardship, and community truly look like and Grow Wabash County is honored to recognize them as the 2025 Farm Family of the Year.” Tenille Zartman, president and CEO of Grow Wabash County, said.
The 2026 Salute to Ag Dinner will take place on Wednesday, March 4, starting at 6 p.m. at the Wabash First United Methodist Church, 110 North Cass Street in Wabash. Registration for tickets and sponsorships is now open. Registration can be done online or by contacting Grow Wabash County via email, jana@growwabashcounty.com, or by calling 260-563-5258.
