Amaya Mogollón

Wabash County, IN (Sept. 24th, 2026) – Grow Wabash County is welcoming a local Manchester University student, Amaya Mogollón, to its staff as an intern for Fall 2026. Amaya Mogollón is a first-year Communications major at Manchester University. She plans to minor in Spanish and Environmental Studies and earn her master’s in business administration while completing her undergraduate degree. She is very involved at Manchester University and participates in many campus clubs, including USG, Environmental Club, LSU, Theatre Society, and the Honors Program. In addition to clubs, she also works in the admissions office as a Spartan Outreach Specialist and a Student Ambassador.

“We’re delighted to add Amaya’s talents and enthusiasm to the Grow Wabash County team this fall,” said Tenille Zartman, President & CEO of Grow Wabash County. “Internships like this provide meaningful, hands-on experiences that help students build skills while also adding value to our organization and community. We are especially grateful to Manchester University and the Community Foundation of Wabash County for partnering with this initiative, which allows nonprofits to access grant funding to support intern wages. This program creates more opportunities for students to gain experience locally while strengthening the capacity of our nonprofit sector.”

After university, Amaya sees herself possibly working at a nonprofit, similar to GWC. She hopes to find a role that combines her Communications and Environmental Studies knowledge and lets her advocate for environmental awareness and protection.

"Amaya stood out throughout the selection process because of her enthusiasm, curiosity, and eagerness to learn,” said Amber White, Office Manager of Grow Wabash County. “One of the most rewarding parts of welcoming an intern is having the opportunity to watch someone discover and develop their strengths. We look forward to supporting her growth, learning from the unique perspective she brings, and welcoming her to the Grow Wabash County team.”

During her time with Grow Wabash County, Amaya hopes to gain real-world work experience and continue developing her professional skills. She is excited to expand her marketing knowledge and is grateful for the opportunity to gain experiential learning in her first year of university.

Grow Wabash County believes that internships are a valuable investment in the community's future. By providing students with hands-on experience and meaningful connections to local employers, internships help build a pipeline of skilled talent and demonstrate the rewarding career opportunities available right here in Wabash County.
