CFWC awards $5,000 to GWC for EMT scholarships

Wabash County, IN – Grow Wabash County has received $5,000 in grant funding from the Community Foundation of Wabash County (CFWC) from the Gordon J. and Audrey L. Ridenour First Responders Endowment to provide scholarship funding to Wabash County residents looking to become an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
The City of Wabash Fire Department will be facilitating the upcoming EMT training program. The course will meet every Monday and Thursday starting on Monday, July 31 through December 2023. Classes will be held both from 7:30 – 11:30 a.m. as well as 6 – 10 p.m. Students will be able to choose which timeframe works best for them to attend.
An Emergency Medical Technician–Basic (EMT-B) certification will provide individuals, through employment and/or volunteerism, with an entry-level skill set to apply during traumatic or medical emergencies. This course also provides the individuals with the required foundation to further their skillset and education to the paramedic level while gaining insight into the EMS/healthcare profession.
