GWC, GPP to host Manufacturing Day celebration

September 25, 2023

Wabash County, IN – Grow Wabash County is excited to partner with Global Precision Parts (GPP) to highlight the importance of our local manufacturing industry with a Manufacturing Day celebration on Friday, October 6.

Manufacturing Day, also known as MFG Day, is held in the first Friday of October to recognize the role that manufacturing plays in communities all over the United States. It is a day to celebrate not only the incredible things manufactured in and around the country, but also to raise awareness for the myriad of job opportunities available within the manufacturing sector.

“Manufacturing is without a doubt one of the most important industries both in Wabash County and in the United States,” Keith Gillenwater, president and CEO of Grow Wabash County, said. “We are very proud of the manufacturers we have in Wabash County and in the excellent products that are being made in our local manufacturing industry every day.”

During this event, Global Precision Parts will be unveiling some of the newer products that the company is manufacturing for ACME Sports. As a demonstration of how the Wabash County community can directly benefit from its manufacturing industry, GPP will also be donating some of these locally made firearms to the Wabash City Police Department and Wabash County Sheriff's Department.

The Manufacturing Day Celebration will take place at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 6, at Global Precision Parts, 202 Wedcor Avenue in Wabash. As part of the festivities, the public will be invited to tour the facility and meet members of the GPP team.
