Downard to review Imagine One 85 progress
October 17, 2023
Wabash County, IN – Grow Wabash County invites its investors and community partners to join Alex Downard, director of Imagine One 85, for a year-end review of the progress made through the Imagine One 85 countywide strategic plan.
During this event, Downard will share some of the exciting achievements in Wabash County in 2023 and steps taken toward the ultimate goal of growing our population. He will also highlight what long- and short-term goals he and the Imagine One 85 committee have for the years to come.
“It is incredibly rewarding to see the Imagine One 85 plan be put into action after months of working to create something that would unite Wabash County and have us all move collectively in the direction of growth and prosperity,” Keith Gillenwater, president and CEO of Grow Wabash County, said. “We have almost a year and half under our belt now in implementing the plan and we are excited to see what’s in store for Wabash County as we look to 2024 and beyond.”
Since the strategic plan was adopted countywide in July 2022, Downard has activated organizations, government partners and engaged individuals to work toward achieving the 85 recommendations outlined in the plan. Some successes include the construction of the Eel River Pavilion in North Manchester, the launch of the Wabash County Broadband task force and further development to create new housing all over the county.
“Over the last year, we have held over 500 stakeholder engagement meetings and nearly 40 community presentations related to the implementation of Imagine One 85’s action agenda items,” Downard said. “The leadership within our communities have been instrumental in continuing to push forward the priorities identified through the Imagine One 85 strategic planning process and by keeping them engaged in the implementation efforts, IO85 remains a top priority. We hope that community members can join this update to learn more about what is on the horizon for the next year of the implementation efforts.”
This event will take place on Thursday, Nov. 16, at 8:30 a.m. in the Grow Wabash County conference room, 214 South Wabash Street in Wabash. Admission to this event is free for GWC Investors, but registration is required as space is limited. Registration can be done at www.growwabashcounty.com/2023imaginereview.
