Wabash County, IN (FEB. 28, 2024) – Grow Wabash County is excited to once again host some of Wabash County’s top academic students in the Class of 2024 at its annual Honor Student Luncheon on Thursday, April 11.

This year’s luncheon will recognize 73 Wabash County seniors with career plans ranging from nursing and health care to education and various STEM disciplines.

This year’s luncheon will invite representatives from local businesses and organizations to attend the luncheon as “mentors” to students considering similar career paths. These mentors will be encouraged to chat with students about their own professional journeys and how and why they chose to work in Wabash County.

“The goal of this event every year is to limit the amount of ‘brain drain’ that small communities like Wabash County often face when their students graduate high school and begin to pursue their own careers,” Chelsea Parson, project manager for development and marketing, said. “Wabash County is filled with opportunities for anyone looking to pursue most any type of career. We hope that by attending the luncheon, these top academic seniors recognize those opportunities and see that they can build a future of their own right here in Wabash County.”

The luncheon will also once again host a panel of industry professionals that will provide insight and advice to the students about starting their careers and why they should consider Wabash County when it comes time to choose where they want to lay down roots and begin their professional careers.

Local businesses, colleges, universities and employers interested in sponsoring students and showing your support for the next generation of talent in Wabash County can do so by registering online at https://members.growwabashcounty.com/events/calendar/ or by contacting Grow Wabash County by emailing Jana Thibos at jana@growwabashcounty.com or calling 260-563-5258.
