Wabash, Ind. — Wabash County is preparing for a year-long celebration honoring America’s 250th anniversary, featuring a dynamic lineup of festivals, historical tours, engaging family activities, music, and community-wide events throughout 2026. From winter’s eagle watching trolley tours to summer block parties, memorable holiday celebrations, and special exhibits, there’s something for every resident and visitor to enjoy.
“We’re thrilled to celebrate this milestone in American history right here in Wabash County,” said Stephanie Rogers, Wabash County Liaison for the 250th Anniversary state-wide celebration. “From the stories of our earliest settlers to the traditions we continue today, this year is all about bringing the community together to honor our rich heritage and create lasting memories. I can’t wait to share these experiences with families, friends, and neighbors.”
Throughout 2026, several signature events will anchor Wabash County’s America 250th celebrations, starting with the Legends & Landmarks Hunt, an interactive, countywide experience that invites participants to explore historic sites and uncover the stories that shaped the community. Summer brings the vibrant Red, White & You Festival, a patriotic celebration filled with family activities, live entertainment, and hometown pride, while music lovers can soak in the sounds of tradition at Bluegrass at Hopewell, where roots music and history come together in a scenic setting. The year will also include meaningful moments of reflection, including the Kerr Lock Veterans Memorial unveiling, honoring local veterans, and recognizing their lasting contributions to both Wabash County and the nation.
